On a pleasant spring day, I was shooting a young couple's engagement photos when I happened upon the burned out remains of a Yellow Goose store. I quickly finished up my other work so I could return and shoot the site. It was a very sad place. Though a fire occurred only a few months ago, every metal surfaced is rusted due to the oxidation of the fire. I spoke with the owner and it turns out that because of some technicality, he hasn't received a dime from his insurance company. Little was left of the store, yet here and there were reminders of its former life. Candy bars completely intact, bottles of Poland Spring Water untouched, comic books still readable. Though I was with others, I spoke very little during the exploration. Very surreal place.
