| Concrete Central is the largest grain elevator in Buffalo, built while the grain boom was still strong. The silo complex was used effectively for 20 years before it was abandoned. Finding a way to gain access was difficult, and eventually I had to use satellite imagery to find a way in. Once there, I was thunderstruck by the shear magnitude of the building. It is a somber place, a reminder of past prosperity, but also an eerily proud place. It’s one of my favorite sites to visit. |
