Much has been said about the Buffalo Central Terminal. Built at the height of the Art Deco era, left to decay after only a few decades of use, gutted by heartless owners, and so on. The last few years have seen good things happening to the BCT. The Central Terminal Restoration Corporation has stepped up and begun to restore the building. Slowly but surely they put a new roof on, sealed up broken windows, installed new clocks, and began public tours. This is great for the building, if not so great for Urban Explorers. This was my last trip inside the building for 2003, and my only trip up the tower to the very top. Buffalo seems like such a peaceful city from way up there. Almost as if climbing the many flights of stairs takes one back in time, to a place where the loudest things you hear are crickets, and the city is just one big blanket of elm trees. A magic place.
