Importance of Breakfast

Sunday, March 7th, 2010

Everyone has heard that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. But not every one has really thought about what the effects of skipping breakfast can mean to the average Joe. Turns out it can be very harmful and, of course, very uncomfortable. What’s clear is breakfast can do some pretty good things for you.

When you eat food, your body extracts the nutrients in that food. With those nutrients, it makes energy for your body to do work. Now if you start the day without breakfast, which means that, you are literally running on barely any fuel at all. Think of your body as a car. If you don’t eat breakfast then you are not filling up with fuel and you will run out of what little fuel you have left. When that happens, your body will crash. And when it crashes it’s going to be hard.

So no matter how busy you are or how late you are, you should always eat breakfast. If you can’t manage then you should find a way to get some food as soon as possible. If you don’t then you will not be good for much, like working, until you do.

Got Back Pain?

Friday, August 28th, 2009

I have had back pain for several years and have tried many things including several chiropractors in the town I live in. These guys get you in and put you through the mill so that by the time you leave you have been stimulated, massaged, baked and cooled, stretched and cracked. You don’t know if you feel better or just feel different. One guy seemed to just want to crack my back whatever which way it would crack so when a friend of mine suggested East End Chiropractic for my aching back I was hesitant. However, I was in pain and when in enough pain you will try anything again.

I wasn’t sure I was in the right office at first as it was a very simple place with only two rooms outside the lobby. When I told Dr. Olsen about my back pain and how long I had been in pain he sat and patiently listened. He spent more time feeling my spine and hip and then sent me to get electrodes on my back and he followed up with specific, targeted adjustments. I got immediate relief but the pain came back so I went back several times a week and now am going back every two weeks and I am amazed at the difference it has made! I am gardening and exercising without pain! I can ride in a car for long distances without pain! So if you got back pain, keep looking for a chiropractor who can help you as they do exist.
